TEC Presents Safety Awards to Concho Valley EC
Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC) safety instructor, Devery Rosenquist, presented two safety awards, a certificate of operating without a loss time work injury for five years and the Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program (RESAP) certificate of safety achievement to Concho Valley EC at the April safety meeting.
RESAP was established by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) to strengthen leadership engagement, create a continuous safety improvement plan, provide honest feedback to support improvement, promote employee involvement, and better enable cooperatives to reduce injuries over time. Every three years, cooperatives are eligible to become certified through their statewide association. CVEC’s audit to achieve the RESAP certification was performed by its statewide, association TEC.
Concho Valley EC considers the safety of its employees and the public a top priority. Each year, eleven employee safety meetings are held, covering topics such as pole-top and bucket rescue, hazardous materials management, safety data sheets training, bloodborne pathogens training, forklift certification, CPR and first aid. Safety demonstrations are held at area schools and other community locations at the request of area organizations.
