Four Students Awarded $2,000 Scholarships
Concho Valley Electric Cooperative is committed to the education of our members and their children – our leaders of tomorrow. That’s why the co-op offers scholarships to high school seniors and postsecondary students.
CVEC awarded four $2,000 scholarships to students who have excelled in academics while also showing a servant’s heart in giving back to our community through local volunteer work.
“These scholarship recipients are our future community leaders,” said Jacob Webster, CVEC’s Public Relations Specialist. “The cooperative is proud to give these outstanding students a financial boost to help with the next step in their educational endeavors.”
Funding for these scholarships come from money that would normally be escheated to the state. A portion of each year's escheated funds from unclaimed capital credit accounts are designated by the State Comptroller's Office to be used for scholarship purposes. This is another benefit delivered from your cooperative. CVEC appreciates the opportunity to bring this service to our members.
